Kicking Microsoft in the Nuts

I have had a gut full of the corporate shitheadism in Microsoft.

I really fucking have.








Why? Because they LIE about every fucking thing.

Everything is a half baked bullshit trip of badly made software that is foisted upon the public for them to sort out the problems....

Then add in the managements atypical act of upgrading the software for their never ending cash cow milking, shutting out backward compatibility - and inbuilding stupid features like "The Ribbon" to provide idiot fast tracks to functions I rarely use and or need, and it takes up 1/3 of the much needed screen space....

And these people have deliberately built in "NO WAY" to switch it off - but the INDEPENDENT programmers do make and sell little "functional programs" do provide ways to make the ribbon into a menu driven system.

After 20 something years of fighting with these people - the only thing they ever inspired me to do was to search desperately for alternatives and when they came along, to exit the management of Microsofts Nazi licenses, and avoid them and their crapware as much as I can.

In essence - My opinion of Microsoft, the people who work in it, and the people who run it, is this:

"The people who run this corporation are a pack of arseholes."


What leads to the summary of this gripe?

If you are running a dual boot, and Boot into Linux, you CAN read everything in the Microsoft partitions....

Which is really good, especially if the Microsoft software takes a shit or becomes infested with malware etc.

But if you boot into Microsoft Windows, you can't read any Linux drives or partitions with ANY of Microsoft's operating systems or software. 

Why not?

CEO's like Ballmer and his team do not say, "We REFUSE to provide the means within OUR software to read the EXT4 or any other LINUX (or other) filing system (etc) drives and partitions., what we will do, is say to you:

"YOU NEED TO FORMAT THIS DISK BEFORE YOU CAN USE IT"

Ballmer and the rest of the sleazes in Microsoft lie to you.

They are telling you that a disk or partition that is full of data, in another filing system type,  has nothing on it, and it must be formatted or erased and written over, with the NTFS (Microsoft) filing system before the people in Microsoft, allow their software to read the disk or partition with their filing system on it, to be read.

This is how this situation actually works.

Do I want to be lied too by the people managing Microsoft?

No.

Do I like them doing their corporate sleaze, called vertical integration where the only thing that the Microsoft software works with, is other Microsoft software and formats.

No.

Do I like this Nazi style of vertical integration - the play nasty our way or not at all approach?

No.

Do I like the distinct probability that because of the management of Microsoft LYING to so many people about this, that many people have been caught out unawares, and have accidentally overwritten drives formatted in other formats? - because the managers of Microsoft lied to them about their refusal to be compatible with other drive and partition formats? And when they read the message from the management of Microsoft, that the drive is empty and needs to be formatted, they trustingly or accidentally formatted the drive - am I OK with any of this?

No.


Do I want "less clued on" people who are not aware of this issue, "accidentally" formatting drives and partitions on me?

No.



Fuck you Ballmer, you ARE the CEO of this coroporation, and the decision to lie to me and everyone else about this, renders you liable.


People of the world, I believe that you can sue Ballmer for falsifying the nature of the decision to not interact, with other operating systems and formats, not for not refusing to support them, but for failing to tell the truth about what their actual position actually is - and that the drive is not actually unreadable,

but

a) they just have refused to make them readable with their software,

b) They have told you a different story,

c) What they have told you isn't true,

d) A LOT of people would have accidentally lost lots of data because of this.

For example, if the people responsible for these decisions had of actually said, "Drive / Partion type is a EXT4 filing system, and it is not supported by us, we suggest that you use it on a Linux system to check it's contents prior to formatting it - OR if you are sure that the contents of this drive are safe to erase, you may proceed with formatting it and erasing it's contents in the conversion to the NTFS filing system that we support."

While they do not have to support any filing system except their own, this would have been the ethical response to their refusal.

But they didn't - they lied and withheld that information from you and told you that it must be formatted to be read - they are giving the same direction to a fully functional drive or partiton, with data on it, that has been formatted in any number of filing systems, as they ought to give with a blank new drive or unformatted partition.

And that is NOT right.

This in my opinon makes them legally liable for falsifying the nature of their agenda and for the consequential damages that occur.
