I am immensely grateful for the good works of the Linux / Open Source Movement - I absolutely HATE the American Mind Fuck Corporate Bullshit of Microsoft etc, and I am thankful that they can be relegated to the last OS of choice.... So anyway before I go too far off the deep end.... OK - Linux Schminux.... Generally speaking it's really EXCELLENT software.... I have settled into a contented rut that a simple menu driven piece of software is about as good as it gets... I like keyboards... And yes I am impressed with new stuff.... Like language / speech recognition etc., etc., etc..... But I really can't be fucked living Matrix style. Some of the open source stuff is really brilliant, done by brilliant hard working people - but other software, including some of the people who write it and or defend it, it's inexcusable... People rightfully trumpet, "Open Source...
