An interesting question. "When exactly does a gubbo, become an abbo?"

OK.... People from a long way, away, a long time ago, came to Australia.

Before they came, they were foreigners, and after some 40,000 years, they became "Aboriginal" or Abbos for short.


Then while I have limited knowledge of the continual migration too and from Australia during the intervening centuries.... by assorted peoples from many lands....

By taking a leap of time, to 1788....

"On the 26^th January 1788, The First Fleet, led by Captain Arthur Phillip and including 1,000 officials, marines, dependents and convicts, landed in Botany Bay. The British declared Australia terra nullius, or land belonging to no-one, and dispossessed hundreds of thousands of Indigenous Australians."


OK - now following in the foot steps of the original invaders, who went on to slaughter millions of other life forms, as they over ran and occupied the country, just how long does it take for all the other (more or less) people of the second wave of invaders and occupiers, to be come abbos too?

And since we are all descendants of Germs from Mars, who grew up from shit in a pond, and then evolved into apes in Africa and then we migrated globally from there, does becoming an abbo start when you move in, or is it when you get born here?

Or does it involve even more abstract terms like people who migrate across oceans, eating fish and shit when bobbing along in canoes, to eating kangaroo and other wildlife while on walk about in the centre of Australia?

Just what factor does the cultural currency play in being a second wave invader, or a many generations descendant of one, from being any of many other cultures, to being "The right culture" to become an abbo?

Does one stop eating doner kebabs and eat kangaroo instead to become an abbo, or what happens when abbos stop eating kangaroo and eat doner kebabs instead?

Is is becoming an abbo dependent upon your skin colour? If enough whities come and then go a bit brown in the sunshine, and with enough surviving to turn into blackies, with heaps dropping dead of skin cancer along the way, at what point does darkie conversion, make one an abbo?

And what if the second wave invaders are not gubbo's (whities) but are blackies - what then?  

What is the line in the sand so to speak, or what is the threshold, that one has to cross, to transform, from being either a (principlally) first or second wave invader or a gubbo, to becoming an abbo?



It's a fair question.


But no one but me ever asks it......


The abbos have no answer to this, either for themselves or the gubbos, and the gubbos don't have an answer for themselves or the abbos either.
