Re the Gear Up Sonic Animal Deterrent (Kangaroo Whistle)

"I bought some of them there "Anee-mal Wissuls" to scare the bejesus of the hoppy critters.... and taint saying nuthin on the packit.."

(pictures coming)

The exact same whistles are brought out under a heap of brand names, for different retailers.... Like Lion Brand, and   (more coming)

Since I have a brain between my ears - and I hate piss poor "anything" - add in advertising, specification sheets, etc., etc., etc...

I asked the wholesalers / distributors some clever questions.

webenquiries@gpcasiapac.com

In a clear air stream, what is the necessary air velocity to make them begin to work in meters per second?

What is the frequency they whistle at?

What is the sound pressure level in decibels at 1 meter, 10 meters and 100 meters and 500 meters?

What is their effective range and under what conditions?

And can you send me a copy of the results that assert that they have proven to be effective at deterring animals?

And exactly what is your definition of "deterring"?

Dear BAC

This is what I could source for you.

In a clear air stream, what is the necessary air velocity to make them begin to work in meters per second?
Product testing results are not available to the general public.

What is the frequency they whistle at?
The devices operate at a frequency range within that which has been observed to be the hearing range for captive Eastern Grey and Red kangaroos.

What is the sound pressure level in decibels at 1 meter, 10 meters and 100 meters and 500 meters?
Product testing results are not available to the general public.

What is their effective range and under what conditions?
Effective range will vary depending on a number of factors - If the device has been correctly mounted and the position/height of the device on the vehicle, the condition of the device (Is it fully intact and free from blockage or debris), weather conditions (temperature, wind direction, wind speed, relative humidity, presence of rain), terrain (road surface type - asphalt including specific asphalt type, gravel, concrete) , background noise (associated with wind), and vehicle velocity etc

And can you send me a copy of the results that assert that they have proven to be effective at deterring animals?
Copies of internal product testing are not available to the general public.

And exactly what is your definition of "deterring"?
To discourage from acting or proceeding.

Thanks,
Ben

Well to go into deeper analysis - my questions were good, for a single spit out event, but in hind sight, I think they could have been better.

No matter.

The thing I dislike more than "a shit job" is "a shit bullshit artist".

And the response is just dumb fucking bullshit, from a dumb fucking bullshit artist.
